As a business traveler, you probably eat out for many meals. The Dining tab is probably the one you can leverage the most. Click on Dining, and you will be presented with offers for dining gift cards for many restaurants. Simply click Add to Cart, and the offer will be added to your shopping cart. Points are transferred accordingly, and you will receive your gift card within 10 business days. Just follow the instructions on how to redeem your card with the appropriate dining establishment, and you can enjoy a free meal.
Another cool option is American Express's Entertainment Access. At the bottom of the Dining screen under More Entertainment Access, is a link titled See Events. Select the link and you will be presented with a screen that will highlight several different entertainment venues. Select Culinary and you will see several different options, including Open Table, Gold Card Culinary Events, Platinum Card Dining, and Other Savings. Open Table is a website that allows you to book reservations online at many restaurants nationwide. Just type in your criteria, and your reservations are set. Gold Card Culinary Events shows a comprehensive list of food events around the country that you can book for your enjoyment. Platinum Card Dining allows you to get preferred seating and reservations at select restaurants around the world. Lastly, Other Savings provides a listing of special offers and savings at numerous dining establishments.
Keep in mind that you can use your American Express for more than just flights and hotels. Your considerable business spending can help you get a free meal, preferred seating or reservations when you are out and about. It is a great way to leverage your business travel expenses and reward yourself during your downtime.
