Prevent Wrinkles On the Road
Packing Tips for the Business Traveler

Learning how to prevent wrinkles is essential for the business traveler. Make sure you look presentable at your next meeting with these tips for how to prevent wrinkles.

1. Buy Wrinkle-Free

Avoid wrinkles the easiest way by purchasing wrinkle-resistant dress shirts, pants and blazers. While I've managed to wrinkle plenty of so-called wrinkle-free items, you will find that the synthetic materials do let go of wrinkles a lot faster than cotton or linen blends.

2. Use a Suiter System

Buying luggage with a suiter system will help you keep your dressiest work wear flatter than if you were to cram in the bottom of your bag.

3. Fill Your Case

Empty spaces in a suitcase are not your friend - clothes will shift around and wrinkle faster. Use socks and underwear to fill in empty holes.

4. Pack Clothes in Garment Bags

Leaving clothes in dry cleaning bags or garment bags can cut down on wrinkles by filling in empty spaces in your luggage. Alternatively, you can have a dry cleaner wash and fold items for you, which you should pack in their plastic bags.

5. Fold Smart

Fold items at or close to the seams, and be sure to button everything that can be buttoned to help clothes retain their proper shape.
