Top 5 Best Business Hotels in New Orleans

From About.com

As a native New Orleanian, I expect great hospitality when I stay at a hotel property for business. Part of the reason for this expectation is the fact that New Orleans' is a city that prides itself on its hospitality, and that spirit is evident in its hotel industry. Some of my best hotel stays on business have been in New Orleans (after I moved away for work). Here is a short list of some New Orleans hotels that cater to business travelers.

1. The Windsor Court

The Windsor Court is arguably the best-known New Orleans hotel outside of Louisiana, probably because it was the "#1 Hotel in the World" according to Conde Nast in 1998. Customer service is unparalleled, and the hotel restaurant, The New Orleans Grill, is an excellent place for high-end business meetings. In addition, the hotel is walking distance from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the Central Business District (CBD), and The French Quarter. All of these points, plus a first-class business center, and high-speed Internet access make The Windsor Court a first choice for business travelers.

2. Intercontinental Hotel New Orleans

As a native, I used to enjoy the Intercontinental's Sunday champagne brunch. As a visitor on business, I enjoy the spacious rooms, and the wireless access in the public areas. Besides a top-notch business center, and standard business amenities, the Intercontinental is also within walking distance of the convention center and many major business throughout the CBD. Book through the hotel's wesite to get the lowest available Internet rate.

3. Loews New Orleans

I love Loews. In fact, I usually stay at a Loews property if given a choice. The reason for this loyalty is great customer service, well-sized accomodations, and a wide array of business amenities. Not many hotels have pool concierges who will send a fax for you while you work poolside. The property in New Orleans is no exception, and it is a great place for business travelers to stay when in town for work.

4. JW Marriott Hotel New Orleans

The JW Marriott Hotel New Orleans is a newly-renovated property, and it certainly more than meets the standards set by the Marriott Hotels & Resorts. The hotel offers a full complement of business amenities, including high-speed Internet access and three phones in every room. Sure, it's a luxury property, but the location and service justify the price tag, especially for executive business stays.

5. Hilton New Orleans Riverside

The Hilton Riverside is a huge property adjacent to the convention center. The hotel is part of a complex with many restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby. The Hilton Riverside is a first-choice for convention attendees, and its range of business amenities include work desks in each of the rooms, wireless access and a coffeemaker for those road warriors needing a cup of java in the morning. The service is exemplary, and business guests can work or play with equal effectiveness.
