Review of the Homewood Suites by HiltonHomewood Suites

The Bottom Line

The Homewood Suites Hotel at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in Irving Texas is a solid bet for business travelers looking for a comfortably base of operations. The hotel is close and convenient to DFW (just north of the airport), but doesn't seem to have any airport noise. Free breakfasts and dinners (during the week), along with a pool table, (small) business center, and helpful staff make the Homewood Suites DFW a good choice for a business trip. It's also perfect for business travelers staying longer than one night, with full (clean) kitchens, full-sized refrigerators, and microwave ovens.

Guide Review - Review of the Homewood Suites by Hilton

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Irving-DFW Airport, TX hotel is located just north of DFW airport in Irving, Texas and in the hear t of a number of businesses, including DHL, Citigroup, and more. The hotel has a variety of studio rooms and one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites. All rooms come with a full kitchen, with a full sized refrigerator and microwave oven.

The hotel has small, but useful, business and fitness centers. There’s no extra charge for the either. There’s also a handy snack shop area, with drinks, snacks, and some groceries, near the front desk.

The hotel's service was very personal and helpful. When the front desk staff realized they gave me the wrong room key, one attendant actually chased me down, apologized and quickly returned with the correct one.

My room was clean and in good repair. Not overly large, but very comfortable--especially for an extended stay. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was basic, but clean and good, with a separate sink area.

The hotel has a nice outdoor basketball hoop for catching some extra exercise. There's also a grill if you want a BBQ or picnic. Nearby is the hotel’s indoor salt water pool (great to keep the burning hot Texas sun off you). Just off the main lobby is a cozy game room with a full-sized pool table.

The Homewood Suites DFW/Irving is a good place to stay if you have a car. If not, you might want to pick one closer to restaurants, shopping and other amenities, or to the Grapevine Mills Mall. There are no restaurants or other stores in walking distance, so be prepared to drive. Airport is quite close (about ten minutes), which was great for catching my early morning flight.
