The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago is a classic hotel in the heart of Chicago. Located near the top of the Magnificent Mile, it’s the type of hotel with a mail slot next to the elevator. Both the lobby and rooms have been nicely updated, with tasteful modern furnishings and high-end amenities. The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago is a solid choice for business travelers.
Hotel Overview
The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago is located near the top of the Magnificent Mile, surrounded by a range of other hotels, including the Westin, the Drake, and the Hilton Suites. The hotel has an elegant lobby and compact but comfortable lobby bar and lounge. The hotel is close to a range of Chicago businesses and activities, including the John Hancock Tower, Water Tower Place mall, and the shops and restaurants of Michigan Avenue.
The hotel features standard rooms and upgraded suites. Rooms are luxurious and modern, without being overdone. My room featured a large desk, ample lighting, and an adjustable chair. Both desk and bedside lamps included power outlets, and the room features a large, HD TV. My suite included a sitting area with couch, chair, table, and honor bar/refrigerator. The room had long, heavy drapes on the window which completely blocked out light. The room was quiet and there was no hallway or street noise.
The bathroom was large and impressive, with a combination tub and shower with both a rain shower head and hand-held shower wands. The bed was soft but firm, with a down comforter and pillows. I particularly liked the attention to small details, such as an automatic light that turns on when the closet door is slide open.
The elevators are slightly small (as you can expect in an older hotel) and slightly worn, but they're fast. The rest of the hotel was in excellent shape.
Overall, the Millennium Knickerbocker is a great choice for business travelers who want an extra level of service over standard chain hotels.
