Three Unknown Hotel Amenities for Business Travelers

Three Hotel Amenities that Business Travelers Don't Know

From About.com

Business travelers spend a lot of time in hotels. Depending upon the amount of travel that one does, he or she could conceivably spend two-thirds of their week in a hotel. Amenities are important; ask anyone who has stayed at a hotel with a tough bed and no internet access. However, most business travelers have amenities of which they are not even aware. Here are three unadvertised amenities that most business hotels offer.

  • Cellphone Charger Provider: So you left home, and forgot your cellphone charger? Don't worry. Luckily for you, a lot of business travelers do the same thing when they leave a hotel. Most hotels have a surplus of phone chargers behind their front desk that are left behind when people check out. The next time you forget yours, simply ask the front desk clerk, and he or she will be happy to provide one.

  • Walking Guest Reward Account: If you are a frequent business traveler, you probably have one or two guest loyalty memberships. However, when remembering what to pack for that trip, you may or may not forget your membership number. Not to worry, most hotels have access to this information at their front desk. So long as you can remember your name and address (hey, you've been traveling a lot lately), the front desk clerk can pull it up for you.

  • Personal Assistant: If you are high enough in the corporate hierarchy, you probably have a personal assistant. If you are not, you probably wish you had one. Most business hotels go above and beyond to provide for their guests. If you are staying at a first-class business hotel, you can be assured that the hotel staff will act as your own personal assistants during your stay. On a recent stay in New Jersey, FedEx Kinko's failed to deliver some posters for a big meeting. Not to worry, the hotel staff took my slides and made posters for me (thank you, Hyatt Hotel!). If you ask, they will be happy to help, but it is not a service that is advertised.

You will probably not find these three hotel amenities on any website or brochure. Yet, if you take the time to ask, you will be surprised what level of service your hotel is willing to provide.
