Taxi, Train or Car? Business Travel Transportation Options

Saturday November 10, 2007
On my first trip to New York, my new clients told me to avoid the subway. Being from another city, I would almost certainly get mugged, lost or stranded in some strange part of Manhattan. A really good friend of mine (who was from New York) urged me to take the subway to make my meetings. He said "They just think you're green. Taking the subway will get you anywhere you need to go quickly and cheaply." I took his advice and I never regretted it. Thanks to him, I always take the subway in New York, the Metro in D.C., and the Underground in London. Check the following and make the decision for yourself on your next trip.

Saturday November 3, 2007
Airline food typically gets a bad rap. Truthfully speaking, the majority of airline travelers' experience airline food in coach. When traveling coach, you can expect either a bag of salted peanuts or ice-cold turkey on a soggy roll. Yet, first-class business travelers get to experience a different level of cuisine such as grilled salmon salads, fresh fruit, or roast beef with horseradish sauce. Check out the following article in USA Today about some top of the line meals that you can get in the air.

I'm sure you've noticed that airlines have been a little less than user-friendly in the past few years. Well the airlines are starting to notice too. Leading the way are Northwest and American. Both airlines say they are making changes to address the problem of customer satisfaction. Is it true? Could better times in the sky be forthcoming? Maybe, according to USA Today.

Wednesday October 10, 2007
Recently, I was searching for a flight to Fort Walton Beach, Florida to no avail. It's a small airport and many airlines don't even know it exists. Luckily, Delta knows about the city, and I was able to book them to make my business trip. Delta's many destinations is one of the four reasons I choose Delta for many of my domestic flights.

Hampton Inn and Suites: Business Travel Friendly Hotels

Tuesday September 11, 2007
On a recent stay at a Hampton Inn in New Jersey, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and amenities I experienced. My memories of Hampton Inns are of hotels with very poor quality and barebones amenities. My stay there changed that image completely. In fact, Hampton Inn & Suites is probably one of the most business travel-friendly hotel chains at which I have ever stayed. See here for some more information.

Airports Upgrade Food for Frequent Travelers

Monday September 3, 2007
On a recent hustle through a major airport, I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of a Romano's Macaroni Grill. I'm used to the same old McDonald's, Burger King, and California Pizza Kitchen, so this change was a welcome surprise. As fate would have it, my flight was delayed (although I suspect that this was less fate since it has become such a common occurrence), so I sat down for a pretty good meal. A recent article in USA Today discusses the recent upgrade in airport dining options. Take a look.
