Transfering American Express Points for Free Hotel Nights

Last week, I was telling you about how to transfer Amex points to get free flights. This week, I wanted to tell you how to also use your points to get free hotel nights. I'm traveling to San Francisco in a few weeks, and I'm going to use my points to extend my trip and enjoy a little quality time with my family. It's just another way to leverage your business travel to reward your hard work.

I use the points for airfare all the time, but haven’t for hotels yet. I think I’ll give it a try on the next trip. Is there a particular hotel chain that gives you a better deal on points?
Ditto: I’ve never used points for hotels only for flights. I didn’t even know it was in such wide spread practice. I think I’ll take your advice and get some upgrades.
