Choosing Business Hotels: Hotels for Business Travelers
Tuesday January 16, 2007
I cannot emphasize how important it is to pick the right hotel when traveling for business. On one business trip to Miami, I booked the Clevelander Hotel, right in the middle of South Beach. I figured I would take in some nightlife and be centrally located to make my calls. After a productive client dinner, I retired back to the hotel for a good night's sleep. I was awakened an hour later by a resonating bass from the hotel lobby below. Music poured through the walls and rattled my bed. In the room next door, drunken revelers threw themselves against the walls as they wrestled and goofed off. I got zero sleep, and promptly checked out the next morning. Although the Clevelander is a great party hotel, it is not really a great business hotel. Here are some of the things that you should look for when choosing a business hotel.

These are great tips! I always check to see if they have wi-fi or just high-speed connection in-room. With two of us with laptops, it is so annoying to take turns after a long day out like you have to do if you’ve got to plug in.
Shouldn’t they have “quiet hotels?” It would be a cool idea for a chain.
