Keeping Better Records During Business Travel

Friday January 5, 2007
One of my New Year's business travel resolutions is to keep better records while traveling for business. Every business trip I make, I usually come back with tons of receipts for lunches, dinners, tips, taxis, and airfare. It also seems that, most of the time, I inevitably miss one or two receipts. However, this year will be different! Check out these tips for keeping better records on the road, and join me in being even more organized for the new year.

Great article, thanks! I’ve also found it helpful to carry a notebook for all the expenses that don’t have receipts, like tips. Some trips, I’ll write down every expense. It really helps me ensure I haven’t misplaces a receipt, and I know exactly what I spent, where.

Creating a visual map using receipts is a great idea; thanks! Maybe I can actually remember to include expenses for which I don’t have receipts that way.

Great advice. Now if I can just get compulsive enough to follow it!
