Best Business Hotels in Washington, D.C.

Tuesday December 19, 2006
Right around the holidays, I always miss Washington, D.C. I frequently travel there during this time when the city is lit up for the holidays. I have many happy memories of my stays in the nation's capital. My most memorable one was when I stayed at The Jefferson Hotel for a business trip. The airline lost my luggage, and I had a very important meeting at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. Faced with possibility of showing up at my meeting in jeans and a sweater, I was more than a little frustrated. The front desk clerk at The Jefferson did everything he could to ease my tension. He called the airline continually throughout the night to get an estimated time or arrival on my luggage. He sent up complimentary toiletries and sundries so that I could at least make my self presentable. He even said that they would call Brooks Brothers in the morning and have them open early so that I could purchase a new suit for my meeting. I was awed by the level of service that this gentleman provided. In fact, I was so relaxed after that encounter, I curled up in front of the fireplace off of the lobby with a book and let me mind drift for an hour or so. This is one example why The Jefferson Hotel is on my list of best business hotels in Washington D.C.
