American Airlines Gets Flexible

Wednesday May 20, 2009
In a bid to attract fliers, American Airlines announced new features and rewards travel opportunities for AAdvantage members. With AAdvantage Flex-Awards, you can now book one-way rewards travel as well as multiple-class bookings (e.g., you can fly First Class one leg, and Coach on another), multiple-city trips and more. The one-way mileage rate will be exactly half of the MileSAAver or AAnytime round-trip rate. This new flexibility, along with upgrades to the AA.com website, are a welcome change of good news for the consumer. Let's hope other airlines follow suit!

Surprised about this AA notion. Not sure it’ll last. I read this gem of the resultant private sector adaptations to recent legislative measures against lenders.

Check this out. Could mean the tightening of frequent flyer terms. I hope your article is the trend, and not the linked article’s predicted gloom.
