Where to Stay for NYC Conventions

Monday January 5, 2009
Conventions are in full swing at the Javits Center in New York City for 2009. Hotels fill quickly around these events, so plan as far ahead as possible so you can book the most convenient (or your preferred) hotel. As I am a slave to hotel rewards points, I never really stay in any of NYC's cool, boutique hotels. When I head to the city for business, I stick to the chain hotels who cater to business travelers and tourists, so I can rack up the points while I work. That still leaves a lot of places to navigate, however, which makes it easy to end up at a location that is far away from the convention center. If you're headed to the Javits Convention Center anytime soon, don't book a hotel without checking out my list of nearby hotels.

Getting to the convention center (or your hotel) also requires some advance planning, so be sure to research the easiest and most cost effective way to get from the airport to the city.
