Travel Resolutions

Tuesday December 30, 2008
I am sure most of you will be as happy as I am to see the back of 2008. It has been a horrific year for the world's economy, which in turn has made business travel largely more difficult and expensive. I am not going to promise 2009 will be any better from a financial perspective, but I have decided I am going to make the most of what I can control. I have come up with my usual list of New Year's resolutions - as I am sure you have too - and thought I would share a few with you. Happy New Year and, as always, safe travels!

  • Resolution #1: Stay Fit On the Road - and still have room in your carry-on for clothes - with travel-friendly fitness gear. From resistance bands to MP3 players and pedometers, these fitness equipment picks can help you stay fit during your travels.

  • Resolution #2: Stay In Touch While Traveling - You give up a lot of time with your family when you travel for work, but these five tips can make staying in touch when you're away easier.

  • Resolution #3: Maximize Rewards - Make your business trips more rewarding by joining these frequent flyer loyalty programs. Make sure you're making the most of 2009 by also signing up for every available hotel rewards program, as well. Who knows - maybe you can take your family on a dream vacation with all the miles and points you rack up this year.
