Wi-Fi in the Sky

Tuesday September 16, 2008
There never seem to be enough hours in the day to get it all done - especially when you spend several of them in the air - but certain airlines are offering new services to help you be more productive. American Airlines (along with Delta and Virgin America in the near future) is stepping up and giving the business traveler something we’ve been craving since Al Gore invented the Internet: Wi-Fi on flights.

American Airlines now has wireless Internet service from Gogo on select flights between New York (JFK), San Francisco and Miami, with plans to expand these routes in the near future. Keep an eye out for Virgin America and Delta service later this fall.

Costs for the service have been set at $9.95 and $12.95 for flights under and over three hours, respectively. A small price to pay for being able to keep up with email, in my opinion.

Have you tried Gogo yet? Let us know how it's working by posting a comment below. Safe travels!
