It's hard to say that there's anything particularly special about the Homewood Suites hotel in Newark, Delaware, but that's okay. Located just south of Wilmington, this Homewood Suites is pretty much like other ones--it's a well-designed hotel for business travelers who want extended stay options or the amenities of home, like a real kitchen, with stove and full-sized refrigerator. As with my other Homewood Suites experiences, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating, and even adjusted my bill without my asking when problems arose during the night. Read my review of the Homewood Suites Newark/Wilmington Delaware for the complete picture.

In my last post I highlighted a top ten list of travel applications for the iPhone. This time I wanted to highlight an additional application (for smartphones, iPhones, and the Web) that might be pretty handy for frequent airline travelers.
The application, called FlightView, allows airline travelers to easily track the status of flights and airports. It provides real-time information on delays and allows users to graphically see everything from a flight's progress to the number of airlines being delayed at a specific airport. You can save frequent itineraries for repeated use and view everything from baggage claim info to the weather.

Is it stealing when the hotel leaves you a nice fluffy robe and you take it home with you? Not if they charge you for the missing robe on your bill. These days, hotels are putting all sorts of extra amenities in their rooms, from cool coffee makers to slippers to robes. If you've ever wondered what's fair game to take with you when you leave, check out this About.com video that details what you can (and can't) take from your hotel room.

What travel application do you have loaded on your smartphone or iPhone? There are a few that I use frequently while traveling, including Kayak (great for getting current hotel prices and availability), TripAdvisor (great for hotel reviews), and TripIt (great for keeping track of itineraries).
Ned Levi, from Consumer Traveler, recently published his list of top 10 iPhone Travel applications. See what you think of his choices and let me know what travel applications you have loaded on your phone.
